Working Together with Unite

The latest example of Crown Group organisations working in unison to secure future work from a national organisation is the latest award from Unite to undertake Student Accommodation projects in Summer 2016.

Marc Denison of Crown Facilities and Darren Elliott of Crown Flooring front this relationship which is growing year on year.

Crown, operating as Principal Contractor, have flooring, decoration and bed replacement projects in Scotland already lined up and there is more work at bid stage.

Many organisations are now seeing the Crown Group as a one stop shop for turn key operations across the UK.

Recruitment is ongoing particularly for Crown Facilities who have a growing reputation for excellence.

Asbestos Accreditation

For a number of years now Crown have had in house Asbestos Removal capability. This Accreditation and Capability is now UK wide and can be offered as an integral service by any of our UK divisions.

Bigger and Better. Another year of Growth

After yet another year of growth across all of Crown’s UK offices plus the positive impact both Crown Facilities and Crown Finishes are having on group business, we have once again added to personnel, warehouse space and in house accreditations.

Our London office now has an additional 1500 sq ft of warehousing space, Cheshire an additional 2000 sq ft and we are in discussions to double the storage capacity of our Scottish HQ in Hamilton.

Crown Facilities and Crown Finishes are now fully integrated into all of our offices and joint ventures between all three Crown Group members are now increasing in number, particularly with some of our National Clients.

Recruitment is ongoing with Gareth Hatton joining our Cheshire Consultant Surveying Team and both London and Facilities looking to add to their Contract Management teams.

We pride ourselves on offering unparalleled customer service on a national scale. These latest additions will provide the platform to move this to an even higher level, as more and more national organisations look to the Crown Brand as a key supply chain partner.

Martin Cotterill Joins Crown

We are delighted to announce that Martin Cotterill has joined Crown to head up National Business Development. 

Martin is highly respected in the industry and brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion to the role. We are delighted to have him in our ranks

It is another clear statement of intent from Crown that our growing relationships with national organisations will be given the very highest level of support to ensure sustainability and enhance our status as the only genuine national flooring contractor in the UK

Martin has hit the ground running and clearly has a Crown pedigree in every respect. 

Crown Flooring Shorlisted for FeRFA Award

Crown Flooring are proud to have been short-listed in the FeRFA Awards for Small Commercial Project of the Year for the Rainbow House project. 

Partnering with the manufacturer Sika, Crown Flooring worked closely with the Rainbow House project to deliver a high quality flooring project that needed to meet very specific needs. 

Rainbow House is a national charity working with children with acquired brain injury, multiple disabilities and complex health needs. They are based at a 12 acre site in Mawdesley, Lancashire but offer our services to children from across the UK. The flooring in this new facility had to meet the challenge of providing a comfortable surface for floor therapy exercises, yet offer some slip resistance with an attractive seamless floor.

The Resin Flooring Association, FeRFA, represents the major product manufacturers, specialist contractors and surface preparation companies, raw material suppliers and specialist service providers within the UK Resin Flooring Industry.

Congratulations to Kelly and Danny

Our very own Kelly Tierney from the Cheshire office is now officially Mrs Bacon.

Kelly and Danny married on Saturday 10th October and are now enjoying the sunshine of Mexico with young Kai. It was a wonderful day and quite a drunken night with plenty of Crown colleagues in attendance. 

We  all wish them every happiness.

Costa Coffee Selects Crown

Another month and yet another major organisation looks to Crown for their National flooring provisions.

Costa Coffee are undertaking an intense programme of refits across the UK with Crown Flooring established as the only Flooring contractor capable of wholesale involvement.

Beginning late summer Crown Flooring will be Supplying and Installing Hard and Soft finishes nationwide in Costa Coffee establishments. These projects are set to roll through into 2016 and will require high level logistical management, which is of course Crown’s speciality.

Open University enter Framework Agreement

The latest national organisation to enter into a long term framework agreement with Crown Flooring is Open University. With the ink barely dry on this 4 year arrangement work has already started in earnest & we look forward to developing this working relationship with a key British institution.

Crescent Purchasing Consortium

As the UK’s Premier Framework contractor, Crown are pleased to announce the recent award of the CPC Framework. This is a national EU compliant framework with full UK coverage. Crown are the only Contractor available on all 7 lots, demonstrating best value and being rank 1 in 5 of the lots. It has a 3 year lifespan with the option of a further years extension. A Healthy Future

Crown Flooring are delighted to announce a new national framework agreement with one of Europe's leading Private Healthcare Specialists. Crown will be one of 2 organisations to provide a full UK service and look forward to developing this relationship in the coming years. It is another example of the comprehensive service we now provide across the UK as a whole.

Legacy Rainbow House Charity

Crown Flooring are providing their services Free of Charge for a remarkable organisation, the LEGACY RAINBOW HOUSE CHARITY in Mawdesley, Lancashire. Rainbow House aims to increase the Independent Living of children & young adults with physical & learning disabilities. Many young lives and families benefit from the services this wonderful group of professional provide. Crown Flooring are installing nearly 400M2 of Sika Comfort Floor Plus Resin laid in multiple colour design work displaying Rainbow patterns across the site. It is a highly technical operation that only a very few contractors in Europe would undertake & will be completed this month. The results are already appearing spectacular and we are delighted to be adding such a groundbreaking feature to so such a deserving cause.

Crown are undertaking multiple projects across the length & breadth of the UK for TRAVELODGE & HOLIDAY INN. These projects involve resilient & soft finishes & a good deal of proactive management.  Once again it is testament to the truly national organisation Crown have now become & we are continuing to attract major national clients as a result.

New Starter

We are delighted to announce that Marc Denison has joined the Crown family. Marc takes up the key role of National Operations Manager for Crown Facilities. We have worked with Marc for many years on opposite sides of the table and are extremely pleased to have him us with in these exciting times for the Company. Marc is a perfect fit for Crown, a family man, a terrible golfer and has that essential Sense of Humour.  He Is highly respected in the Building Surveying fraternity and is relishing the opportunity to take Crown Facilities to the next level.

FM Excellence

In recent years Crown have developed excellent national working relationships with the leading FM organisations in the UK. Many of these arrangements are unique & involve Public Sector end users. We have received many commendations & awards from the FM sector, the latest being from VINCI FM. VINCI operational staff across the UK have selected Crown Flooring as their best performing Sub Contractor across all trades. This P1 commendation from Vinci is reward for all Crown Flooring personnel involved both Management and Installation. Crown were awarded leading Sub Contractor in all categories, Operational, Administration & Customer Service processes. A well done to everyone at Crown handling the VINCI account.

Houses of Parliament

With the recent award of the Crown Commercial Service framework it is fitting that Crown have also just been selected to Supply & Install several thousand square metres of soft finishes within the Houses of Parliament. This project beginning in June 2015 involves specialist design, insets & complicated border work for which our own in house design team can take some credit.

The same team from our London office are also involved in the Metropolitan Police scheme starting shortly, around 4000M2 of soft finishes with a high level of design.

Framework Award

Crown Flooring are delighted to announce that they have been awarded the CROWN COMMERCIAL SERVICE Framework for the Supply & installation of Floorcoverings. Agreement Reference RM3747. This goes live from May 2015.

As the market leader in Public Sector flooring this award is testament to Crown’s unique ability to deliver excellence consistently in an ever changing sector. The Framework is for up to 4 years with Crown represented as the only flooring contractor. Wayne Edwards ( Crown Director ) comments ‘ A Cabinet Office framework for flooring has not been available since Crown last operated one in 2011. Once again we are trusted as the only flooring contractor to operate on behalf of Central Government which underlines just how far ahead of our competition we are. A marvellous achievement for all involved, onward and upward.’

New Starters

In recent weeks numerous new members of staff have joined the Growing Crown Flooring family, here are just a few.

Natalie Woods. Natalie joins our London Office as a Consultant Surveyor. She joins us from Volante & has already hit the ground running. Natalie brings a wealth of experience & vitality. She also manages to be a busy mother to little Sophie & in her spare time is trying her hand at Darts, her Husbands’ area of expertise.

Steve Burrows. Steve joins Crown Flooring in Burtonwood as a Senior Contracts Manager with over 30 years experience. Steve is a fabulous addition & is highly regarded in the flooring industry. He also still fancies himself on the Football pitch, his team Alder Vets reaching the National Quarter Finals.

Andy Wallace. Andy joins our Scottish office as a Contracts Manager bringing 27 years of flooring experience with him. He has known Norrie Bell who heads up Crown Scotland for some time & Norrie is delighted to have added Andy to his team. Andy is a prominent figure in Scottish Flooring circles & well respected in the industry. As well as being a Family man Andy loves his Music, Motown & Soul in particular and is the proud owner of a Vespa Scooter.
