Health & Safety & Wellbeing
Crown’s first priority is always ensuring a healthy and safe workplace, in our offices and warehouses, on client sites and whilst moving between them.
Our goal is zero serious accidents and ensuring health and safety risks are managed appropriately to the highest industry standards across all our operations as well as complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
We use Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) specific to each project to ensure our operations are carried out in a safe manner. These are reviewed by all stakeholders during pre-start and progress meetings.
We’re also committed to ensuring our employees well-being whether that be mental health, physical or economic. We aim to support their health and wellbeing concerns at work and home and make a positive impact on their lives.
Crown has a range of health and safety related accreditations evidencing our commitment to compliance with the highest industry standards, including Constructiononline (Gold), Acclaim Health & Safety Accreditation, CHAS Accreditation, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
Crowns’ Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) includes access to the Health Assured Wisdom APP alongside the Lighthouse helpline. The EAP supports our employees in dealing with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, health and wellbeing. It includes assessment, short-term counselling and referral services for employees and their immediate family.
Health & Safety training is provided to our employees as part of their induction to Crown and refresher and development training is provided throughout their careers with us.
Our installation operatives and tradesmen hold CSCS cards with lead installers, project managers and contracts managers holding SSSTS (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme) certification.
Additional basic training requirements for our staff include basic first aid, PPE and asbestos awareness.
